We collect minimal personal information to provide you with a seamless portfolio tracking experience:

• Account Creation: When you create an account, we collect your email address and password to enable secure access to your portfolio data across devices.
• Portfolio Data: You may provide investment details such as holdings, transactions, dividends, and asset values. This data is stored on our servers to power your dashboard and reports.
• Imported Data: If you import transactions via CSV (e.g., from Degiro), the file contents are processed on our servers to parse your transaction history and are not permanently stored as raw files.
• Payment Information: If you subscribe to a Pro plan, we process payments through Stripe. We do not store payment card details on our servers — Stripe handles all payment data securely.
• Usage Data: We collect anonymised usage analytics (page views, feature interactions) via a self-hosted Plausible Analytics instance. No cookies are used and no personal data leaves our infrastructure.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To create and manage your Folia account and display your portfolio dashboard.
• To process payments for Pro subscriptions via Stripe and manage your subscription status.
• To send account-related communications such as password resets and subscription receipts.
• To improve Folia's features and performance based on aggregated, anonymised usage data.

3. Data Storage and Security

Your portfolio data is stored on secure servers. We use industry-standard encryption for data in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest. While we take reasonable precautions, no method of internet transmission is 100% secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential.

4. Sharing Your Information

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share data only in these limited cases:

• Stripe: Payment processing for Pro subscriptions. Review Stripe's Privacy Policy for details on how they handle your data.
• Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Folia, our users, or the public.

5. Your Rights and Choices

• Account Deletion: You can request deletion of your account and all associated data by contacting us at hello@getfolia.app. We will process your request within 30 days.
• Data Export: Pro users can export their portfolio data at any time from account settings.
• Opt-Out of Emails: You can unsubscribe from non-essential emails (e.g., product updates) using the unsubscribe link in any email we send.

6. Cookies and Tracking

Folia uses a minimal number of functional cookies required for authentication (session token) and preference storage (language, theme). We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies. Our analytics are handled by a self-hosted, cookieless Plausible Analytics instance.

7. Children's Privacy

Folia is not intended for users under 16 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn that we have collected such data, we will delete it promptly.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. We will notify you of significant updates via email or an in-app notice. The updated policy will be effective as of the date posted on this page.
